Travel Information for Veterans on High Sierra Courses

WHERE TO MEET

Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) – Baggage Claim Area – Terminal Map

 **Reminder: Participants who have not been medically cleared and approved for course by the Student Services Department will not be permitted to attend course. Please be ready to go, having eaten and made any necessary phone calls by meeting time. 

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS AND INCURRED EXPENSES

• Travel Agent: Outward Bound will pays for flights within the 48 contiguous states. Once you and the course are confirmed, you will be connected to a travel agent who will assist you in making flight arrangements. 
• Reimbursable Expenses: Parking and gas are reimbursable for those driving to the airport. Please check with your course advisor about any limits, and keep receipts to submit to OBCA after course ends.

TRAVEL DELAYS

If a travel delay occurs, please call (209) 742-6999 as soon as possible so that we can facilitate your pick up.

COURSE START

Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT)

• Flight Arrival: Inbound flights should arrive by 1:00 PM on the first day of the course. If you arrive early, please go to baggage claim to connect with your group. An OB representative will be there generally by 11:30AM. **As Outward Bound pays for travel, once you are confirmed and the course is confirmed, you will be connected to a travel agent who will assist you in making flight arrangements. 
• Being Driven/Driving Yourself and Parking at the Airport: Please arrive at the airport by 12:30PM // Airport Onsite Parking Info //
• Greyhound/Amtrak: An Outward Bound staff member can pick you up from the station. Please schedule this with your course advisor. Trains/buses arriving by 12:45 are fine.

COURSE END

Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT)

• Flight Departure: Returns flights should be booked after 11:00 AM.  On the last day of the course, you’ll be back by 10AM or earlier if there are no travel delays.
• Driving: For those being picked up, you’ll be back at the airport by 10:00 AM on the last day of the course. The best place to meet is the baggage claim area.
• Greyhound/Amtrak: An Outward Bound staff member can take you to the station. Please schedule this with your course advisor. Trains/buses after 11 are fine.
